I had to choose the official coffee of Bakeshop, a decision I took very seriously. As a result of perfect timing my friend, Nick Cho of Murky Coffee, has started his roasting company Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters. Trish and Nick are connoisseurs and cool people, I’m glad to have their coffee in the shop.

Construction has finally wrapped up. I am running the kitchen in for a lil’ bit and then doors will open. If you are walking by, stop in and say hello.
A little late and way over-budget, Bakeshop is almost built. Stop by and check it out! Entering the home stretch at last!
Plumbing and electricity is going in the shop. Things are taking longer than expected but I’m on it! In the meantime you can still stop by Chinatown Coffee Company for a Bakeshop cupcake.
Bakeshop cupcakes are back in DC at last! Individually for sale at Chinatown Coffee Company, the new shop run by Nick Cho. This place is on point just like you’d expect.

I’ve been trying to perfect an almond cake that is light and fluffy and at the same time isn’t too almond-y… got it! Amazing with a black coffee!
